I sign an affidavit stating that I never got title when I bought it in ‘06. She says yes it does, so I know it’s the right plate and trailer vin. So I ask her if the vin number she’s looking at on her computer says “MIL” anywhere in it. I couldn’t find the vin number anywhere on the trailer, and I’ve had a bunch of boats and trailers in the mean time so I wasn’t 100% sure the plate was the right one off the Miller trailer because it hasn’t actually been attached since I bought it. Well I beg to differ and my boats been sitting on it for 13 years. I took that old plate there and they did a search and guess what? She says “that’s not your trailer”. So AZ dmv told me go to Needles and get the replacement title. I SWEAR I had the title and reg for the trailer, but could not find it anywhere. Should have known better even with the hurdles the seller is more than standup.just has not gotten through cleaning up his late father's affairs but is trying to help. DMV is telling him to take trailer to CHP to have them do a Vin verification to see if and who is attached to try and get it transferred.Īnybody with experience on getting a trailer without title registered at this point I don't care which state it is registered in but I just want to follow the steps to get registered to me. ![]() He went to DMV and found the trailer had never been titled and the license plate that is on there is assigned to another vin. Asked seller to go to DMV to get title on trailer and then xfer it from his father to him and then sign off to me. ![]() So the seller had xfer paperwork from DMV with death cert but nothing about the trailer. ![]() Long story longer the boat/trailer was owned by late father of the seller. Thought I would try it for the trailer with a bill of sale but AZ said you need title. Was a able to get boat xferred and registered in AZ. Long story short.bought a used boat and trailer recently and the former owner did not have trailer title.
